Iowa Compass has information about grants and funding to meet the needs of people with disabilities, their family members, and care providers. Most of these help pay for assistive technology items. You may search our Search Services & Resources two ways. One way is by entering in service term for the items you need, such as “wheelchair”, “iPad”, “hearing aid”, or “ramp”, for examples. Some funding can be used for any purpose but is only for people with specific health conditions, such as autism, brain injury, dementia, or multiple sclerosis.
Another way to find funding is to choose the Financial Assistance/Services category guided search. Then review the services listed under the subcategories to find where funding may be available.
If you need a specific assistive technology item, you may also want to search for local equipment loan closets by entering “assistive technology equipment loan closet” or “assistive technology equipment rental” for options to borrow the item you need.
